 The 2nd National Bike Summit will take place in Ottawa May 28th & 29th

Building on the success of the 1st National Bike Summit, this event will bring together cycling and active transportation stakeholders from across the country, so that together, we can take tangible steps towards building a bike friendly Canada. Our guests for the two-day event include:

  • Lars Strömgren, Vice President of European Cycling Federation and Swedish cycling organization Cykelfrämjande (Sweden)

At the summit experts will be discuss a variety of topics in a series of panels:

Social events will complete each day: on Monday evening, the All Party Cycling Caucus hosts a screening of Shift – The Film and presentation of the National Cycling Advocacy Award.

On Tuesday, we close the Summit with infrastructure tours of Ottawa and the 7th Annual Bike Day on the Hill, where federal politicians, cyclists and cycling advocates will join together for a few words on cycling, a photo and a short interprovincial ride followed by a BBQ in the East Block Courtyard.

 The media are invited to join us for these events. An opening media scrum will be held on Sunday May 27th, 11  a.m. Ottawa City Hall Front Courtyard, 2201 Laurier Avenue West. Details regarding dates, time and locations of all activities follow below.
