Arne Elias, PhD, MBA

Arne is passionate about building corporate and community sustainability in Canada. He sits on the Federation of Canadian Municipalities GMF Council, led the founding of Canada Bikes and was its first Chair. He works as an advisor in the private and public sectors to deliver advanced integrated approaches to deliver transportation and energy sustainability. He was the Executive Director of the Centre for Sustainable Transportation at the University of Winnipeg, holds a Ph.D. in environmental policy and management and an MBA in not-for-profit policy and marketing, and has taught sustainability courses at the University of British Columbia and Royal Roads. Arne was one of the first mountain bikers and has been professionally involved in cycling since the 1980s including developing races, events, programs, and strategies for increasing cycling in Canada.
